01QualificationHow do I know if my car qualifies under California lemon law?+
Your vehicle may qualify if it meets any of these criteria within the first 18 months or 18,000 miles: (1) the same defect has been repaired 3 or more times, (2) your car has spent 30+ cumulative days in the shop for warranty repairs, or (3) there's a serious safety defect that substantially impairs use, value or safety. The defect must be covered under manufacturer warranty.

You must file your lemon law claim within 18 months of vehicle delivery or 18,000 miles on the odometer, whichever comes first. This is a strict deadline, so don't wait if you suspect your vehicle qualifies.

Yes. California lemon law covers certified used vehicles if they're still under the original manufacturer's warranty or a dealer-provided warranty, as long as warranty repairs were attempted during that period.
